LG&E BUSINESS REBATES
Louisville Gas & Electric is the main utility provider in the state of Kentucky. Their Business Rebates Program lets business owners obtain reimbursement for energy-efficient upgrades to their facilities. In order to raise awareness of the program and encourage participation, we were charged with creating TV commercials highlighting two local businesses that had recently utilized the program. In addition to running on TV throughout the state, these commercials were adapted for radio use, digital advertisements, and features on LG&E’s website. Additional print and digital ads were developed to support the videos.
For both projects I conducted interviews with the business owners to gather information, wrote all versions of the :30 and :15 scripts, worked with our production team to manage the shoot on-set, directed the business representatives in their on-screen delivery and voiceover recordings, and oversaw the post-production process through to completion. These projects were valuable experiences in creating video projects through all stages of production, including on-set collaboration with the production team to craft the finished product.
LG&E operates as Kentucky Utilities (KU) in some parts of the state, so each video needed to be versioned out for individual and co-branded purposes, necessitating six versions for each project.
HEINE BROS. COFFEE
Heine Brothers is a beloved local coffee chain in Louisville, Kentucky. The company had recently used the Business Rebates Program to renovate some of their stores and had announced new store builds would incorporate energy-efficient practices. Their marketing director served as the spokesperson for the campaign.
ST. JOSEPH CHILDREN’S HOME
St. Joseph Children’s Home started off as an orphanage in 1849 and has evolved with the times into a modern children’s home offering residential treatment, foster care and adoption services, behavioral health services, and a child development center. Their historic building is grand, but old. In the middle of an $18 million renovation utilizing LG&E’s Business Rebates Program, we spoke with CEO Grace Akers about what the energy-efficient upgrades mean for the non-profit’s work.
